Wow…

Because of a sort of an off week, with the American Independence Day being on Monday and then Armenian Constitution Day on Tuesday, it is Wednesday and it is only my third FULL day of my internship! Today started off a little shaky since I was SO tired and all, not to be helped by the power outage which forced me to take a shower in the dark!

2-4-6-8 what do we appreciate?

It’s really too bad that the economy in Armenia is so poor, because aside from that, I really think I would enjoy living here. Like everywhere else, Armenia has its good and bad points… but the good aspects of it have been shining extra brightly for me this past week. The air is clean, the water and food taste great, and there really isn’t too much about this country that is extravagant (extravagance being a bad thing in my opinion if it is overindulged)… the only extravagant places are those that cater to Americans.

Hello out there in radio land. Please excuse the delay, our internet has been down for the last few days. We have had the last three days off from our internships, and had a mostly free schedule. On the 1st we went to Ashtarakhitzor for Carla's birthday accompanied by the Yaldezians' cousin Suren and his wife and kids, and Lillit who used to work at our hotel and now is one of our local buddies. Ashtarakhitzor is a restaraunt/river/zoo/dance floor/concert hall/awesome in the an area called Ashtarakh(I'm sure I'm spelling this wrong). I also learned that tzor, at least I think, means ravine.

It’s been a week!

Parev Dzez! Anahid here! It’s been a week since we've been in Yerevan, and we have already gotten to experience so much!

My internship is awesome. I owe David and Vram big time for make this opportunity possible for me! I am working at the Soorp Nerses Medz Pzhishgagan Gentron (St. Nerses the Great Medical Center) with the nurses of the 7th floor proctology/cosmetic facial surgery center. The nurses, "kooyr's" as they call themselves, have been showing me the ins and outs of the recovery room, teaching me about protocol and showing me how to do stuff.
