New CYMA Website Launched!
I'm happy to announce that CYMA has launched it latest version of www.cyma-wd.org. This new version is focused around developing a community driven environment for past, present and future CYMA participants and their families.
Planning and organizing CYMA every year has been at times challenging, but ultimately rewarding and fun. We want to be able to share that experience with the faithful of the Western Diocese through our website. You'll notice that the tone of our blog posts will reflect that increased openness.
So What's New?
There quite a bit of new functionality on our new site. Lets look at some new stuff.
- Polls
This isn't by any means revolutionary, but we've added polls to the site like this one. Part of loving Armenia is that everyone has a different opinion about whats the best X, or the most beautiful Y. We'll have some fun debating the questions. - Blog Ranking
Another fun little widget are the ranking stars that you'll see at the bottom blog post like this one. Its a way to indicate whether or not a post was helpful and informative or not. - Increased User Orientation
As part of increasing the face of the CYMA family on the website, we're
building user profiles, like mine, so you can see who is contributing to the website, and what they're background is. - Twitter Integration Are you on Twitter? If you are, go and follow @CYMAWD. We're going to be twittering about all the stuff it takes to get CYMA ready. Additionally, our committee members and users can integrate they're twitter accounts too.
- Online Donations
A big reason for upgrading our website was to develop a comprehensive system for fundraising. We not only want to be able to solicate donations but also to effectively keep our donors up-to-date as to how we are using their support to make CYMA a reality. More on this to come.
Geeky Stuff
If anyone is interested, we moved from our previous Content Management System, which was Wordpress, to Drupal 6.1. So far, as the website admin, I'm enjoying the flexibilty of working with Drupal. Its a very robust system. We are using a slightly modified version of the Acquia Marina theme as of the writing of this post. In the near future it'll become a very modified theme.
Share The Love
Please tell your family and friends to visit the new CYMA website. Subscribe at the bottom of the page to stay up-to-date about our activities.
God bless!
